A button down refers to a garment with a collar, a full-length opening at the front from collar to bottom, and long or short sleeves with cuffs. The front opening is always fastened by buttons or studs. The traditional button downs are made of woven cloth and colored in white with seven or eight buttons.
The white button downs are mainly worn by men in formal occasions with bottoms tucked in for its hard shape and feature. Their symmetrical appearance gives a neat feel to the wearer. Therefore, they play an important part in school uniform too, as well as in women’s wardrobe too nowadays. They can give an ultra-sophistication to a woman’s clothing style.
