Your wedding day is going to be a magical day where all eyes are on you! And  I mean ALL eyes! You are likely spending lots of money on a gorgeous dress, and have hired someone to do your hair and makeup! You are going to look flawless on your special day. So, wouldn’t you want your skin to look flawless as well?

Because I sure do!

It is never to early to start a beauty/skincare routine to get your skin looking perfect! One of the first steps you are going to want to take is knowing your skin! There are lots of different skin types including: normal, oily, dry, sensitive and combination.

It is pretty easy to tell which skin type you are, as the skin types are basically what they sound like. If you have dry skin you probably suffer from dry or tough patches of skin on your face. If you have oily skin, then you have oily patches. If you have sensitive skin then you need to be careful about which products you buy, as you are prone to break outs or other reactions on your face. Combination skin means you typically have a mixture of these things, maybe an oily “T” zone, but dry patches on your cheeks. And finally, the lucky normal skin types, for the most part normal skin is smooth and clear.

I have a combination of dry and sensitive skin, so I try to find products that are very moisturizing but that also use ingredients that won’t break out my skin!

It’s good to have a morning and a night routine. Now, you do not have to, but the different products in the morning and night will keep your skin refreshed in different ways. The night routine involves a little more steps and products and involves taking off the days makeup and preparing for rejuvenation overnight. Whereas the morning routine is all about preparing for the days work!

Here is a little printable routine sheet that helps you know the order to apply products! Also, if you’d would like, take a second to read on this page about why the order of products matters.

Here is the routine that I follow and it has cleared my skin so much! Now I use a majority of drugstore products, so my routine is affordable as well!

Nighttime Routine

I use the Pond’s Cold Cream cleanser to remove my eye makeup. I have used this for years now, and love it! It is super affordable, and one tub lasts for months! I just wet my face, then put some of the product over my eyes, and rub gently. I then use a rag with warm water to wipe off the cleanser along with the makeup. This product just loosens the makeup and anything else in one simple swipe, and makes makeup removal so easy!

  • Olay Advanced Cleansing System – $35

I got this as a Christmas gift a couple years ago, and I have used it just about every day ever since! I use a deep cleaning facial wash, and squirt just a drop on the brush. I use it for about a minute or two, until I feel my face is nice and clean! I really feel like this brush is brushing away my old and dirty skin!

  • Toner: Clean and Clear Deep Cleansing Toner for Sensitive Skin – $5.99

I put just a dab of this on a cotton pad and just rub it on y face. My face feels tingly while it dries, but that makes me think its working! I let it air dry before moving on to the next step.

  • Spot Treatment: Neautrogena On-The-Spot Acne Treatment – $7.99

This is one of the only products that I do not use every night, as it is only necessary when you have breakouts. The purpose of this is to medicate and dry out that nasty pimple to get your skin back to clear!

  • Serum: Pixi Overnight Glow Serum – $24

Now, this is the only thing in my routine that I use that is not from the drugstore, and I did not actually spend this much money for these products! Every once in a while at Macy’s, they put these products in the little bags they give out, and they are free with any $35 purchase! So for $35 you get both, and the little pots they give you last a long time, since a little bit of this product goes a LONG way! So if you want to give these products a shot, I suggest you try that way!

Daytime Routine

  • Cleanser: Garnier Micellar Cleansing water – $8.99

A little bit of this goes a long way as well! Just put a little bit on a cotton pad and rub it around on your skin. It can be a little soapy in tecture, so just rub it in. This is a great way to clean your skin of anything that collected at night, and it is very gentle on your skin! I let it air dry, just like the toner, before moving on!

  • Toner: Burt’s Bees Rose Water Tone – $11

This lotion is great because it is made for all skin types! I have yet to break out after using this! I also like that it is fragrance free, because some moisturizers smell very strong.

  • Sunscreen: Neutrogena Clear Face Liquid Lotion Sunblock – $10.99

Protecting your skin from the sun is one of the most important things you can do! And if you can only afford to buy one thing for your beauty routine, then make it this one! UV rays are so harmful for your skin, as they can cause wrinkles, sun spots, and worst of all, skin cancer. So please protect yourself! Since I have sensitive skin, I use one that is specifically formulated for the face, and have yet to break out! If you think you can take it, then use any sunblock you have for your face, However, regular sunscreens leave a very thick oily film on your skin, but this one does not do that! Apply this, allow it time to soak in, and then your face is ready as is or you can even apply makeup over it!

I hope these products help you get clear, glowing, youthful skin that is bright and ready for your wedding day! if you have any suggestions for products that you love, feel free to comment down below, as I am always looking for even better products to try!
